Prefer Capability over Maturity Models.

Don't fall into the trap of maturity models that focus on helping you “arrive” at a targeted mature state and then declare it done - It's a continuous improvement paradigm. The technology and business landscape is ever-changing - Allow your model to be multidimensional and dynamic, with different parts of the organisation focusing on the capabilities that will give them the biggest bang for the buck based on their unique context - Don't measure technical proficiency or tooling install base without tying it to business outcomes.
